The snow has arrived in England, in a big way.
This isn't what we are used to, unlike many states in USA.
Schools are closed.
Paddington station is closed.
Hundreds of people spent the night on the motorway in their cars, unable to move.
There have been terrible motor accidents.
There is a Red Alert for S.Wales and South West England.
It all happened so fast. Yesterday morning I went to our local surgery to pick up prescriptions. It was a cold morning but everything was green.
I was there maybe 15 minutes and came out into a white world with huge snowflakes swirling. Driving home was not nice.
I took the precaution of ordering a supermarket delivery at the beginning of the week. We have a full freezer, plenty in the larder, and a full tank of heating oil...so all should be well.
This is part of our garden today, but more snow is falling with 'Storm Emma' looming.
My husband's Carers haven't been able to come due to the icy roads, but that's not a huge problem. I'd rather they went to the people who live on their own whose needs are greater than ours.
Each morning I put on my snow grips (bought in Canada many years ago) and check on my nearest three or four neighbours, all of whom live on their own.
A few daffodils make the day brighter!
