Working in the garden

I spent most of today working in the garden wonderful warm day until about 2.00pm then it became very hot so I had to stop for a ice block or two and a few cool drinks, but did get a fair bit done, I pulled apart the huge cage the beer fair built for Pidge he hasn't used it in about 3 or 4 years he only went there to feed  so we decided that a shelf was a better idea one where Drumstick couldn't reach and then his food would be safe from her anyway the wild birds still eat it.
This was Angus paddle pool when he lived here but he didn't like water very much so he never used it but we had it over the top of the cage to keep the food dry when it rained, not sure what to do with it might get some goldfish, lots of mesh wire that I took off the cage that I can put over the top, it looks like these two had read my mind and are waiting for the fish.

Long wait fellows no where near ready yet.

This is Pidge new shelf, the beer fairy put it up for him.

My Maple tree is in full leaf it's only been in the ground just over a year

It was about 6''high when I took it out of the pot it was in and planted it in the ground so it's going well.

Other thing not doing so well, it's been very dry the last couple of months.

Well time to go inside it's getting dark and the beer fairy is cooking tonight and he says it's almost ready.

 The next day, this is Drumstick's bath they like dust baths so this area is for her maybe she will be kinder to the garden now.

 I bought two little duckies last time I went shopping.

 And this is Pidge's both of them don't drink when I put in fresh water they like it a couple of hours old.

 Pidge now has a bird to tell him where to go.

 And I need three bricks high for the fish pond.

 This was going to be my Japanese garden but nothing has really happened yet and Drumstick enjoyed eating the plants I had planted.

 But I will get on to it when the weather cools off maybe after Christmas.

 But  the Boggie  always looks good no matter how hot or dry it gets.
